Gaps in learning occur for a variety of reasons. Individualized tutoring can help to close those gaps.

Focused Learning

The activity in classrooms can be distracting for many students, and they often miss out on important instruction and information. In one-on-one tutoring, students can revisit and practice concepts they may not have fully grasped.

Pacing

Not everyone learns at the same pace; some students require more time to integrate skills while others are ready to move on to more complex skill levels. Private tutoring can address the needs of those who need more assistance, and can also provide enrichment for students who desire a challenge.

Learning Styles

Everyone learns differently. Sometimes all a student needs is for material to be presented in a different way in order for it to "click." In private tutoring sessions, we can discover and tap into individual learning styles to promote deeper understanding.

Objective Guidance

When a child is struggling or not being challenged, arguments at home can ensue. Adding discord to a student’s (and parent’s!) stress only exacerbates the situation. Because we form personal connections with our students, we are often able to be more direct and objective than family members, and students can make progress and achieve success more quickly.
